Cardiovascular disease is often preventable if you work to modify, treat or control your lifestyle and risk factors through regular physical activity, proper nutrition and maintaining a healthy range on your numbers (cholesterol, blood pressure, weight, etc). Stewart Colling led a heart-healthy lifestyle, but he was unaware of a risk factor that he couldn’t change – heredity. Stewart’s father and grandfather experienced cardiac events; however these complications were not clear. Had Stewart been aware of his potential heredity trait for heart disease, he could have started preventative screenings with his physician. More About Stewart
